Fr. William P. Stevenson
Associate Senior Pastor & Pastoral Administrator

Fr. Bill was the first of six sons born to William C, and Patricia H, Stevenson.  He considers St. Thérèse Parish his home parish, having arrived in 1967 when his family moved to San Diego from Anaheim, California.  He graduated from Herbert Hoover High School in San Diego in 1969 followed by college at the University of San Francisco, and St. Patrick’s College Seminary in Mountain View, California.  He attended the major Seminary at St. Patrick’s Seminary in Menlo Park, California, before returning to San Diego for ordination to the priesthood in 1986 by Most Reverend Leo T. Maher, Bishop of San Diego.  Father Bill served in a variety of pastoral assignments before coming to St. Thérèse as Associate Pastor from 1990-1993.  Since then, he has served as Pastor of Mission Santa Ysabel, St. Elizabeth of Hungary, Julian followed by pastor of Stella Maris Parish in Door County, Wisconsin.  He returned to St. Thérèse Parish in July of 2006 as Associate Senior Pastor. In July 2011, he was appointed by Bishop Brom as our pastoral administrator.

In his free time, Fr. Bill enjoys scuba diving, reading, traveling, and spending time with his dog “Cameron”, a Chihuahua-Rat Terrier mix who was rescued following Hurricane Katrina.  You can often find them strolling the grounds together on their daily constitutionals!
