Clarissa (Lissa) Hutcheson
Director Elementary Religious Education

Lissa began as a Catechist at Guardian Angels Catholic Church in Santee when her family moved there in 1987 and has been a Certified Catechist in the Diocese of San Diego for 18 years. She has served in catechetical ministry at St. Thérèse Parish as a Eucharistic Minister, Lector and as the Altar Server Coordinator.  There is nothing she enjoys more than spending time with God in prayer, in hearing the Holy Spirit and in reading of our Lord Jesus Christ through the sacred scriptures. 

Lissa believes she and her family are blessed to be able to practice the Catholic faith.  She personally is equally blessed to be able to share the teachings of the Church with those she comes in contact at St. Thérèse Parish as well as in her daily life. As a catechetical minister seeing the joy of the light of Christ in the eyes of a child is the greatest gift of all and she is thankful that God has chosen her to share in this gift.

Lissa has been married to her husband Todd for 25 years; they have two beautiful girls, Jessica, 22, and Maggie, 15, who both share their time and talents in various ministries at St. Thérèse Parish and in the community. As a family they enjoy running, skiing, biking, hiking, surfing and golfing. In her alone time, Lissa is a veracious reader, carrying a book along where ever she goes. She also enjoys handiwork, sewing, knitting and crocheting. Her favorite Psalm is Psalm 27:1, “My Lord is my light and my salvation; whom should I fear?”
