What is Involved in the Preparation for Marriage?

In addition to meeting with the priest/deacon preparing you for marriage, the Diocese of San Diego requires a two part preparation process:

1. Attendance at a Pre-Cana Conference (a half day session; you may select a Saturday or Sunday date).

2. Completion of either Engaged Encounter Weekend, or Evenings for the Engaged (one night a week for six weeks).  

Additional preparation may be necessary depending on your circumstances. The parish office will provide you with registration forms for the preparation process. These programs are usually booked for months in advance, so we advise you to register for and attend these events as soon as possible to avoid any potential delay.
