Why Join a Small Church Community?
1. You will deepen your understanding of the scriptures better in a small group.
2. You will begin to really feel like part of God’s family.
3. Prayer will become easier and more meaningful to you
4. You will develop skills you never knew you had!
St. Paul taught that everyone is given certain talents or "gifts" to benefit others in the family of God. Unfortunately many Catholics remain as Sunday morning spectators all their lives because on the surface mass seems to be a "sit and listen" situation. As you share and participate in a relaxed small group setting, you will uncover your personal faith and grow in confidence as you share it with others.
In addition, small communities are a natural way to share Christ with friends, relatives, and work associates. It may be that some of your friends wouldn’t be caught dead in a catholic church. They have a preconceived idea and just the thought makes them defensive. But those same people may be open to an invitation to a casual Bible discussion in a home setting. When your friend sees the love, warmth and honesty of your group, it just might make him or her more receptive to the Good News.
5. You will deepen your appreciation of the Eucharist – which means thanksgiving.
