Small Church Communities |
|
Small Church Communities (SCC’s) are groups which gather to share their life and faith on a regular basis in order to grow in their commitment to Christian discipleship. SCC's include a broad range of groups and ages such as Cursillo groupings, bible studies, MOMS, centering prayer and the book club. SCC’s set their own schedule for meetings based on the needs of the group.
It seems timely to form ecclesial communities of a size that allow for true human relationships (in) the parish to which such groups belong. In such a human context, it will be easier to gather to hear the Word of God, to reflect on the range of human problems in the light of this Word, and gradually to make responsible decisions inspired by the all-embracing love of Christ. (141 Ecclesia in America Pope John Paul II )
Contact the Ministry Center 619.286.4605 if you are interested in forming a group or joining an existing group. We offer training, materials and a variety of opportunities to experience faith-sharing firsthand.
We are excited about the incredible potential of the network of small groups we’re building at St. Thérèse Parish. Small Church Communities have benefits you won’t want to pass up. Still not sure? Then check this out! Why join a small church community?
