Martha and Mary

In the gospel account of the raising of Lazarus, his grieving sisters Martha and Mary are supported by the community who has gathered to help them at their time of loss.  In that same spirit, the Martha and Mary Group began as an outreach ministry to support families in their own time of grief and loss. 

Their ministry is truly “a work of their hands” as they prepare meals to provide for the bereaved family and their guests on the day of the funeral.  They embody Martha’s desire for generous hospitality with Mary’s prayerfully attentive disposition.  What a blessing!
